Motortown

The Dutch premiere of Simon Stephens’ 2006 play Motortown, in Van Der Sluijs’s own translation.

This studio production about a returning Iraq veteran alienated from the country he fought for combined a transparent acting style with choral sequences of percussion and movement. Architectural lighting sources created a constant, almost imperceptible, movement in colour and direction of light in an otherwise empty space.
