"A strong example of political theatre with a remarkable, surreal bent."
NRC Handelsblad
"Casually, director Teunkie Van Der Sluijs allows supernatural elements to slide into the action. [...] A deceptively every-day tone, combined with his sharp translation, give the production a playfulness enthusiastically embraced by the actors."
Trouw
"Right from the very first second you know you are watching something extraordinary."

The Mountaintop re-imagines the last night in the life of Martin Luther King. This Dutch premiere production of the award-winning Broadway and West End play reveals how ordinary people can become saints, and how saints turn out to be ordinary people – fragile, vulnerable, approachable.
Staged in an atmospheric, film-set-like environment, The Mountaintop premiered on the 50th anniversary of Dr King’s death before a three-month national tour. A tie-in educational programme by Amnesty International provided workshops and post-show conversations.
